ABOUT

The Reverend Father Dr. Theodore Rostov is a renowned psychiatrist and parish priest whose work has transformed the operation of the Saint Jerome Asylum.
He first began his career in medicine as a resident at Bellevue Hospital, the nation's largest public hospital, where he was awarded a distinguished resident award in Psychiatry. He then completed his fellowship servicing the Harlem community and Bronx borough of New York, standing out for his innovative method of treating mental illnesses and traumas among impoverished populations with lack of access to proper healthcare services.

As the adopted son of immigrants to the U.S., he has devoted his life to bringing light and healing to cases considered untreatable, as well as to displaced and/or disadvantaged families. His faith in God's goodwill leads his efforts in medicine. His outstanding and innovative work in the field has recently been noted among the New York press, due to his recent leadership over the famous Moore Case - a woman accused of having tortured and killed her husband in cold blood in front of her four-year-old daughter. The New York Supreme Court ruled, in part due to Rev. Dr. Rostov's advocacy, to send Moore to Saint Jerome Asylum for a probationary evaluation period to assess whether Livia Moore committed the crime due to mental illness or whether the crime was premeditated.

Thanks to the goodwill and leadership of Rev. Dr. Rostov, the city of New York remains safer than ever before, and communities impacted by mental illness and crime are under control.
